jay_ra, whom I know from my SF MA course, has his own radio show all about SF and fantasy and I'm listening to his first ever broadcast right now! Yesterday the Class of 2005 reconvened for the last time to receive our degrees. We had a great day; my mum came down from Durham, and she and blueeyedgirl36 attended the ceremony to cheer me on, yay. It was great to see everybody again, and actually made me feel like I'll miss them!

Just wanted to say a big thank you for not only all the lovely messages of congrats yesterday, but to all the support I got from everyone in LJ-land while I was doing my MA, and especially while I was writing my dissertation. Celebration number 2 of the day is:

I passed my MA with distinction!

Today I held in my hands, all bound and shiny, My Dissertation.

That's it, no more changes. I returned my books to the library, and everything.

It feels... odd.

I wrote my Conclusion today.

Which means I now have a complete first draft, which I could hand in and I would pass. Not very well - it needs some work - but still.

I should feel more of a sense of achievement, but right now the sense of wanting to move on and get on with the next thing is overwhelming.

First draft of last chapter just about there, although it's still lacking something.

I need references I can use to show regular viewing figures for Blake's 7 and Dr Who 'round about 1978 - this is to prove that British science fiction (on telly, at least) was in a fairly healthy state at the end of the 70s.
